Nine Fresh Desserts Taiwan 九鲜 九份甜品 @ Jurong Point

I have never been to Taiwan before but thanks to the kind folks who brought in the Taiwan desserts chain stores to our shores, I am able to have my first taste of taro balls with beancurd/grass jelly about a year ago.

As much as I like the dessert I had then, I was hesitant to go back again as the price is almost equivalent to a meal at the food court.

However, I am happy to have found another brand of Taiwan dessert stall offering a similar concept but with a more wallet-friendly pricing.

Introducing, NINE FRESH DESSERTS TAIWAN! They offer a few combo of desserts featuring Taiwan-specified ingredients like taro balls and pearls. Or, if you prefer, you could also create your own by selecting one of the base (beancurd, grass jelly, ai-yu jelly) and choosing your favorite toppings.

Xin Long Fish Soup @ Kopitiam, Jurong Point

Update: Xin Long Fish Soup has permanently closed.

After my dental appointment today, I chanced upon this Xin Long Fish Soup stall located inside the Kopitiam Foodcourt on the third floor of Jurong Point Shopping Centre.

Fish soup is one of my favorite comfort food so I decided to order a bowl for lunch. (yes, I ate twenty minutes after my tooth extraction!)

When it comes to fish soup, I prefer to have it with fried fish and thick bee hoon (rice vermicelli) rather than with sliced fish and rice. I can have a hearty bowl of fish soup for breakfast, lunch and dinner consecutively without getting sick of it.

Mini Beanies And Soya Porridge @ Mr Bean Jurong Point

When I saw the above poster on Mr Bean's facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/MrBeanSingapore/photos/a.204749536337346.69311.194064697405830/520886044723692/?type=1&theater), I was smitten-ed by the cute Mini Beanies donning different funny hats.

I have always like Mr Bean's mascot so I thought I gotta give it a try!

And there I was, a few days later, standing in front of Mr Bean at Jurong Point, ordering my Mini Beanies.

KL-Styled Wanton Mee @ Jurong Point Malaysia Boleh!

Malaysia Boleh! is a themed foodcourt located at the new wing of Jurong Point Shopping Mall (beside Ding Tai Fung) selling renowned Malaysian delicacies like Klang Bak Kut Teh, Penang Laksa, Ipoh Nga Choi Gai (Bean Sprouts Chicken), Petaling Street Claypot Chicken Rice, KL Wanton Mee, etc.

Opened since 2012, I have always wanted try the food here but was put off by the horrendous crowd each time I was there.

Try to avoid peak hours if you can or at least bring a friend along so one could chope a table while the other queue for the food.

I decided to drop by an hour before the lunch time crowd arrive and there's plenty of seats to choose from.

The interior is renovated to resemble the olden days when hawkers peddle their food in the streets with the stalls designed as push carts. If you have been to Malaysian Food Street at RWS, you would understand what I am talking about.

Hong Kong Egglet @ Jurong Point

The Hong Kong Egglet is essentially a kind of egg waffles which has been a very popular Hong Kong street snack since the 1950s.

The batter of egg, sugar and flour are poured into a special honeycomb-shaped waffle maker and then toasted to a golden hue similar to that of an eggshell.

Because of the unique depressions on the lids of the waffle maker, the finished waffle resembled a cluster of eggs hence, it is also known as the 鸡蛋仔 (loosely translated as Little Eggs, or Gai Daan Zai in Cantonese).

三盅两件 Soup Restaurant @ Jurong Point

Within a matter of days, I had already celebrated Mother's Day twice.

The first was big brother's treat at Penang Place Restaurant while the second was big sister's treat at the Soup Restaurant.

莆田菜馆 Putien @ Jurong Point

The Dead Cockroach

A very Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there!

We celebrated Father's Day two days ago at Putien over at their Jurong Point branch.

My parents and I were only informed by my sis about this dinner for Dads at the very last minute!

Soup Restaurant at Jurong Point
Having walked past the Soup Restaurant so many times, I still have yet to try their food. Since Dad's birthday was round the corner, we decided to hold his birthday luncheon here last Saturday.

I called and booked a table for ten at their Jurong Point branch.
